I was the VFX and post producer on this campaign, in which we were asked to help Theraflu find a swirl.
The client wanted a swirl that visually embodied the consumer benefit of warmth and relief that Theraflu provides. And by God, we gave them a swirl. It took a lot of trying, but we got them a swirl. In addition to developing, R&D’ing, animating and compositing the swirls you see around the protagonists, we also modeled and animated pills, added steam and did tons of clean-up and seamless VFX which hopefully you won’t notice. A few frames below show how the creative went from napkin to finished image.
